The Noor House Experience

Where old walls tell new tales

We believe Agra is best experienced slowly, with curiosity and care. Beyond the Taj, we guide you into the city’s hidden lanes and living traditions: from heritage walks in Taj Ganj and dawn visits to the East Gate, to evenings tasting street food, meeting local artisans, or joining poetry nights and yoga in our courtyard. Each experience is designed to be thoughtful, rooted in culture, and supportive of the local community.

Taj Ganj Heritage Walk

Come wander with us through Agra’s oldest neighbourhood. The lanes here are alive with stories…ancient havelis, bustling bazaars, and hidden shrines. Our local guides will share tales of the artisans and families who shaped this city, letting you see the Taj’s shadowed streets as a place that still lives and breathes.

Inlay Art Workshop

Sit down with the craftsmen whose families have perfected the art of pietra dura…the intricate inlay work that decorates the Taj Mahal. Watch semi-precious stones come to life under their hands, and if you like, try placing a piece yourself. It’s a quiet, hands-on way to feel connected to Agra’s timeless craft.

Poetry Nights at Noor

Some evenings, our courtyard turns into a circle of words. Poetry Nights at Noor are our signature gathering: locals, travellers, and friends reading and sharing verse under the open sky. Urdu, Hindi, English…lines flow from every language, every heart. Ask us when you visit; we’ll help you join in.

Night Viewing of the Taj Mahal

Few experiences are as magical as seeing the Taj by moonlight. Only on full moon nights (and the two nights before and after), the marble glows silver and quietly falls over the gardens. We can help you arrange entry, so you can simply stand, breathe, and let the monument’s serene beauty wash over you.
